Jakhongir Gafurov, Ph.D., is Head of the Training Center at the Republican Perinatal Center, Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He is a Doctor of Philosophy, doctor of the highest category, head of the Department of Operative Gynecology, Urologist, and Head of the training center for primary specialization of obstetricians and gynecologists in the specialty "operative diagnostic endosurgery in obstetrics and gynecology" at the Republican Perinatal Center.

He is Chairman of the Society of Gynecologists and endoscopists of Tashkent, Member of the All-Russian Society of Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, Member of the Russian Society of Endoscopists, and Member of the Russian Endometriosis Society.

He is the author of more than 30 published scientific papers and the author of patents for the invention of surgical treatment methods in gynecology.

The main directions of his work include: minimally invasive technologies in operative gynecology (laparoscopy, hysteroscopy), uterine fibroids (organ-preserving operations, hysterectomy), genital endometriosis (external genital and adenomyosis), pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence in women, benign ovarian tumors, adhesive disease in gynecological patients, chronic pelvic pain syndrome, and synthetic materials in pelvic floor surgery (laparoscopic and vaginal methods corrections).
